Details: 1983 Jeep Cherokee rare two door with the old school Wagoneer style front end, ALL ORIGINAL, original (though faded) paint, original hub caps, all the way down to the factory AMC cassette deck, has the four-speed manual stick shift and the straight/inline 6 cylinder engine. Jeep runs great, has the plug in block warmer for extreme cold, always starts up, never left me stranded, and runs strong. Things that are new, aka less than 3,000 miles are new Goodyear Wrangler tires, ALL new brakes $1,000 worth (obviously not just pads), new battery, new catalytic convertor and exhaust, and YES even with the new stricter regulations, it just passed emissions 2/1/12, although it runs good, it would soar with just a good solid tune up. Don´t really want to sell it, but economic times being what they are I don´t have the finances to completely restore it the way that I want, and I need the money. Speaking of restoration, except for a small 2 inch in diameter dent in the rear fold down door, the body is perfect, the paint is extremely faded from it´s original dark metallic green to almost a grey color, and though there is some browning, it is solid all the way around and no rust, at least nothing that isn´t just surface oxidation that couldn´t be easily sanded. The interior is also in great shape, only seat with any real damage is the drivers seat, the passenger seat has one slit where the stitching where the leather/vinyl has begun to separate, and the back seat is perfect. Everything works, even the electric rear roll down window, EXCEPT the air conditioning and fuel gauge. ALSO, it only has 133,000 original miles. Now, that being said it is almost 30 years old and does have some usual signs of wear. I want and am trying to be as accurate as possible, but you really have to see and drive it to get it, would be a good work/winter car, four wheel drive works great, OR with little TLC would be a sweet restoration project and possibly one of the nicest around, even in it´s present state, it is very straight, turns heads, and I constantly get comments about it at the gas station and in the parking lot. Engine is a rebuild but not sure when.It has a 1971 grille on it, but it comes with the original grill, antenna, an extra set of 4 white wheels, and a wired lightbar painted the same green as the wheels that are on it, if you can imagine that. Details: First of all, this Jeep runs great. However, I bought it with the intention of making it street legal and I ran into a couple problems that I am not ready to tackle. It runs great and would be a fun offroad vehicle but I don´t have the time or know-how to make it street legal and I need a car I can drive on the road. I really don´t know much about it so here´s what the guy before me said about it:´jeep has almost new 4.0 engine with exteme offroad cam, ( less than 7000 miles on it ) rebuilt transmission 5speed aod, 249 transfercase ( teraflex 4:1 low gear ) OX locker in rearend with 4:56 yukon diff gears, front is lock right locker ( needs new diff gears ) JKS quick disconnects up front ( good articulation ), teraflex adjustable trac bar in rear ( heavy duty ) 4.5 teraflex suspension lift with 1 inch spacers ( not cheesy body lift ). flow master exhaust ( sounds awesome) new exhaust header, cold air intake, 33x12.50 super swamper tires 85% tread left, on black steel rims. full size spare, gas tank skid plate, full size tow package, needs cosmetic work, front passenger window wont roll up or down.´Since I got it I replaced the driver side front brake rotor and bearing/hub assembly. I also put new break pads on both sides up front and the windshield is also brand new. I´m asking $3500 obo but will also consider trades for a good running vehicle. Preferably something VW, Honda, Toyota, etc. and something that doesn´t have a ridiculous amount of miles. I can take additional pictures if needed. Just let me know. Thanks for looking. It seems that everywhere I go, everyone wants to know all about the steering wheel being on the ´wrong´ side, when really, it´s on the RIGHT side. Pun intended. Yes this jeep is great. It has the hard top. I6 4.0 liter, automatic, air conditioning, cruise control, great speakers attached to the roll cage. It has a 4´ Rough Country lift that was just installed in November, when I put new 33´ Wrangler MTR Duratracs on there. The tires look great, and they get many compliments as well. It has great looking black rock sliders, tail light protectors, full size spare tire, and custom front and rear bumpers that have a hitch on each one. The transfer case has been built up, so it is ready for some abuse, including a slip yolk eliminator kit, and a custom rear drive line. It´s running a Dana 44 in the rear, 35 in the front, and it´s running 3:73 gears. There is plenty custom upgrades waiting to be done. The miles are high but this jeep still runs like a champ! I am selling so that I can invest in a business opportunity, so come grab this awesome and unique jeep, and enjoy having one of the ONLY RHD jeeps around. Clean Title!
