Details: 1981 Jeep CJ7 Laredo. The Jeep has been extensively rebuilt and modified over the past 8 years since I have owned it. The original frame was shot so a rust free southern frame was used to start the project. The rusted tub was replaced with a steel tub that is still very solid. Paint is not perfect (was not a professional paint job), is faded and peeling in spots, minor rust in spots, but not rotted! It has a crate 258 6 cylinder engine that has about 10,000 miles since being installed. The engine is mostly stock with the exception of a Webber carburetor. The 3 speed automatic transmission was rebuilt about 4 years ago. The transfer case is a Dana model 300. The original axles were replaced with heavier duty units. Front axle is a Dana 44 with 4.10 gears and a cable actuated OX brand locking differential, and high steer front steering linkages. The rear axle is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and a Detroit Locking Differential. 4 wheel disc brakes. The axles were narrowed and are only slightly wider than wide track CJ axles and still use a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern wheel. The drive shafts were new 1 year ago. The jeep uses leaf springs mounted over the axles for about 7´ of total lift. Tires are 36´ Super Swamper Irocs and are like new. I have a matching steel spare rim, but no tire on it. The jeep has the original full fiberglass hard top and full hard doors. I also have a full ´Jeep´ brand original soft top and soft doors to go with it. I also have a very nice set of black steel half doors and fabric upper doors I will include. Original seats are in ok shape with the exception of split seams in the drivers seat bottom. Original dash with all original gauges including tach and clock. Tilt steering column with original Jeep leather wrapped steering wheel. I originally built this jeep for the purpose of off roading, however, I just never find the time to use it. For a lifted jeep it does drive great on the road. I mainly use it now for cruising on nice summer days. It has only been off roaded about a dozen times, but was always cleaned thoroughly when done and was never ´abused´. For me this was a trail jeep, not a ´mud truck´. Every nut and bolt has been turned on this jeep and more new parts have been installed than can be listed. All work, parts, and upgrades have less than 10,000 miles on them. I easily have at least 3 times as much money in the jeep than I am asking for it. I do not need to sell it, but just do not seem to use it enough to justify keeping it anymore. Please do not waste my time with low ball offers. The jeep is a solid old CJ that runs and drives great, I´ve driven this jeep back and forth to Minnesota & Northern Wisconsin numerous times with no issues. $7,500/ best reasonable offerPOSSIBLE TRADES: 17-19´ fishing or fish/ ski boat. It has 173,589 miles on it.Muffler and Exhaust system were replaced within the last year.Engine is strong and has had recent repairs; may need a tune up. There are a some minor rust spots on the body around the edges and the rubber boarder on the drivers side needs to be reattached. The front windshield has a vertical fracture.
