All miles have been freeway driven and it has been garage kept. I have had my hours cut back at work and I can no longer make the lease payment comfortably. There is 3 years 9 months left on the lease and transferring is very easy with only two fees to pay $150 for a credit check by the bank and a lease transfer fee of $500, I am willing to split the transfer fee with you to make it more affordable. This is much easier than going to a dealership and having to deal with pushy sales people and having to put thousands down on the vehicle. Once transferred you will only have to pay $359 per month. This is much cheaper than putting three thousand down at a dealership and still having a three hundred a month payment. This Compass has four wheel drive so trips to the snow or off road are very easy, this is also the new re-designed version of the Compass that looks like a mini Grand Cherokee. The credit check will be done by the bank that my lease is controlled by, they will require you to have a minimum credit score of around 680 to qualify for the lease. I´ve had the jeep since I was 16 and only recently stopped using as a daily driver. The Jeep just passed smog with flying colors and ready to be registered by new owner.I am moving across the country, and as hard as it is I´ve decided its time to start a new project once I get east. The jeep is rust free except a spot on the windshield frame. The paint is original and looks okay but the clear coat is gone from the hood. Has some ´rock rash´ on passenger rear quarter panel and also on the front driver fender.I designed the jeep so I could drive comfortably to a trail, go offroading/camping and drive home. It has lockers in the front and rear axle, so is not as comfortable for someone that wants to use it as a grocery getter.-New Tires -New BrakesRuns and drives excellent and is built to drive and wheel and I´ve invested at least $20k into it. Most mechanics should easily be able to remake the posts so the jeep can have it again.The rack has 4 Hella lights on the front and 2 tractor lights on the rear mounted to the two military ammo boxes used for parts/tool storage. The lights were for night off-roading and will light up the forest.I had the exhaust installed with two ball and socket points so that the cat and back can be removed to easily service the engine/tranny/tcase without butchering the exhaust.Honestly, I built this jeep assuming I was going to keep it forever. Details: I am selling my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that I have owned for the past three years as I no longer need a four wheel drive vehicle. I bought it when I took a job flying medivac helicopters in Colorado. Now I´m back home in California and that´s why I´m selling it. It has 178,XXX miles on it and is in decent shape for the age and miles that it has on it. It does come fully loaded with power windows, power drivers seat, power door locks, leather interior, heated side mirrors, and air conditioning that blows super cold air. It runs great and will come with a new smog certificate. It comes set up for towing and I have a new ball for it as well. I just recently used it to tow a small trailer and it tows great and all of the wiring for the trailer lights work. Last year I replaced the front brakes as well as installed a new water pump, thermostat, hoses, serpentine belt and belt tensioner pulley.The known issues with it are:-Drivers power door lock inop and must use key to unlock it.-Rear window wiper motor is inop.-Display on stereo is intermittent.-The paint is a typical Detroit paint job and is peeling on top.-The tires are oversized and rub when you make a tight turn.-On very rare occasions and at slow speeds the steering briefly sticks and releases. From the research that I´ve done, this may be related to the oversized tires...it feels like the power steering pump hic-ups and then is fine. I´ve driven it this way for three years with no problems.-Exterior trim panel on rear passenger door missing (that way when I bought it).-Minor abrasion on front bumper corner (that way when I bought it).Do not send an email asking if it is still available as it will be deleted immediately. Details: I absolute love my jeep it is reliable made with very good quality and very good performance it does not cost much to own sides oil changes. This car is very fun to drive I would recommend this truck to anyone. I never had it off road but have taken it Reno about 20 times the 4 wheel drive works great never had any problems in the snow no matter how deep it was. The tires are newer i bought them in 2011 including the spare all new. I bought the truck from the original owner and for being an 1989 it has VERY low miles at 122,203 the 4.0 straight 6 runs strong no knocking no pinging. has cd/mp3 kenwood deck and new air shocks in the back.
