I get about 15-18 mpg with it on the highway. It has a soft top in excellent condition along with full size doors and a rear seat. Mechanically the jeep is in great condition. Only problem is I put a new computer in it and it idles a little to fast. This can be cured by taking it to a jeep dealer and have them reflash it. At that time a not actual mileage title issued. That must have happened during the rebuilding, not quite sure. It was in between 7k and 8k while a dealer had it in inventory. He also bought new wide tires, wheels, springs, shocks, fender flares, folding soft top, doors, heater, wiring harness, dash cluster & tachometer, oil gage and volt meter, all dash switches with billet knobs, front and rear differential rebuild kits, lots of stainless steel fasteners and other new parts before he lost interest in this project. I estimate the total value of the parts in this project to be around $12,000. The AMC 304 V8 engine and the radiator are missing from this project. My freind in Oregon collects early fire trucks so I could not initially understand his interest in a Jeep of this vintage. That all changed for me when I saw the quality of the new aluminum body on this gem. I think it would be a shame to paint it and would think it could either be polished or grained and then clear coated to keep it from corroding. One could even bond some matching alloy aluminum flat sheet pieces to the outsides of the front fenders. This would give this vehicle a complete and very distinctive look from front to back. One could even add a 1-1/2´ or so tall moulding along the bottom of the body and paint it to match the hood and the tops and lower molding on the front fenders. There is no tail gate included so I was thinking one could fabricate one from 1/4´ or so thick aluminum sheet material. This material would be think enough so that one could use a CNC milling machine to engrave the word J E E P about half way through the material and then paint the engraved letters a contrasting color. The possibliities of what one might do with this beautiful and very durable special body are almost limitless. Details: I bought it about 3 years ago and have had it covered beneath a tarp the whole time. It has the original 226 straight six Super Hurricane engine and the original 3-speed Warner T-90-J manual transmission. I rebuilt all of the brake cylinders except for the Master cylinder but have the parts to rebuild it. Part way through replacing the brake lines and have replace the brake pads. It does not have the original bucket seats. There is very little rust but there is a small rust hole on the drivers side floorboard.There is also a whole cut in the driver side floorboard to allow for work on the Master Cylinder (Ironically the only one I haven´t rebuilt). It is titled. This is the first vehicle that I bought and I intend to buy another down the road to restore but I am heading for college and need to put the money in an everyday driver vehicle. Details: This is a 1945 Willys CJ-2A World War II vehicle with the 4-cylinder gas engine and a 3-speed manual transmission. It was restored about fifteen years ago and has been under boxes in my mother-in-laws garage since. She has driven it maybe 50 miles a summer though has religously started it a couple times a month. The engine puts out 60 horsepower and this Willys weighs about 2200 pounds. It starts right up and drives nice. It does have turn signals and is street legal. 4-wheel drive works and it gets lots of attention everywhere it goes. It is a 2A but does have a 3A windshield. Details: I am selling our 1957 willys wagon, with delivery doors. We bought it several years ago from a guy in St. George Utah. The owner prior to him was the US forest service in Northern California who had purchased it new. The guy in Utah but about 6 grand into it including an engine rebuild and upgrading the electrical to a 12 volt system. We drove it up from Utah and used it as a daily drive for about 2 years. After we purchased a newer vehicle it didn´t get driven as often and unfortunately we parked it at a friends house about a year ago and haven´t driven it since. I had always wanted to fix it up but I lack the skills to do it. It needs a little TLC (probably a new battery, oil change, etc.) before driving it. We drove it to the friends house but I haven´t started it since. This would make a great start for a restoration. If you have questions just ask. Fun to drive, real smooth ride, a real head turner.Crack in manifold, so it runs a bit on the loud side until you hit the open road. The rear tailgate window unrolls on bumpy roads, (have a bungy cord attached when I go off paved roads). The headliner sags in the back. After market intermittent wiper motor, push button heat and defrost.New Engine with a little over 4K miles. + additional new parts and just had a tune up.
