An amazing Jeep, priced fairly, must see to appreciate quality and cleanliness.1988 Jeep Wrangler with 4.2l inline six. 133k miles with manual transmission. New 32/ 36 progressive Webber carbeurator with electric choke. Replaced existing ignition with new Chevy HEI distributor. Nutter bypassed the computer. Eliminated all the old emmisions controls and extra vaccuum lines. Replaced oil pan gasket as well as rear main seal. Installed front axel lock cable to bypass vaccuum control system. New battery. New 185° thermostat. Winch amd brush guard. Aftermarket radio with 6x9 wedge speakers in the back. Replaced half roll bar with a full roll bar from a 1995. Painted roll bar black with mettalic flakes. Has 33´ BFG All Terrain tires on 15´ black Mickeys. Full size brand new spare tire on back. 36´ Trail Ratchet Jack. After market rugged ridge drivers and passenger seats. Jeep has some rust starting in a couple places with only one major rust spot on the front passenger fender,about 2´ x2´. Runs perfect and is highly reliable. I drive it just about everyday wether it be around the city or across to the east side of the state. Doesnt burn any oil. This Jeep was not abused but was very well taken care of. It was a Colorado Jeep up until 3 years ago. This is my second alternative vehicle, so I am ready to sell at anytime. I replaced the engine myself in the winter of 2010 due to a broken connecting rod, and I have had no mechanical issues since the swap. This car has been a very reliable driver since then. This car runs perfect. 4 wheel drive works great, transmission shifts well, etc. Power windows, power locks, etc. 100% stock save for tinted rear windows (35%), and an aftermarket Pioneer radio from the previous owner. The car will come with a full size spare on a 15´ steel Jeep rim. I do not have the original space saver.There was some rust starting on the rocker panels that I treated and coated. Details: I am selling a 1989 Jeep Cherokee. It is a 2 wheel drive with the 4.0L straight 6 and a 5 speed manual transmission. It has 145,000 miles and NO RUST. This Jeep is a rare find given its year because there is no body damage or frame rust. Everything is fully functional and mechanically sound. It has a new headgasket, valve cover gasket, valve seals, injector seals, front and rear main seals, new timing chain and gears, power steering pressure line, new heater hoses, new muffler and a few other small things here and there. The tires have around 50% tread left on them. Also, there is a Kenwood CD Player that is fully functional and comes with a remote. I use it as my daily driver because it is a strong running and reliable vehicle. I challenge you to find another 89 Cherokee in this condition. Given that the important mechanical maintenance issues have been addressed, this jeep should keep on running strong for years to come. The only bad things about this Jeep are that it has a cracked windshield and there is no carpet. I took the carpet out because it was pretty dirty. I am asking $2,150 OBO. The tires work great off road but make a rough ride on. This jeep has only been in Michigan a few years and has been in the garage the last two winters. Any rust is light and surface only. this jeep was built right, no spacers, no pucks, no transfer case drop taking up clearance. my next upgrade was going to be bigger axles and then on to cosmetics such as fender flares and off road bumpers but times have a way of taking your hobbies.
