Details: This Jeep has issues. This vehicle is to be sold for parts only.However it makes for a great project car for someone who does extreme 4 wheeling off road. I had it fixed for rolling away from where it was last parked. It worked for a little while but it started doing it again . It would need to have new callipers and shoes and probably rotors, and the emergency brake cable replaced or adjusted. The drivers side front door needs to be replaced and the steering has a leak. the exhaust is also no good. This vehicle is to be sold for parts only. I do not suggest that you buy this car and actually register and drive it on public roads. The motor is the original with 132K miles and the vehicle trans seems to be solid.It is ashame because every part on the car has a matching number that was engraved on it when it was made. Details: This is my 1997 TJ Jeep Wrangler Sahara with the 4.0L Power Tech Inline 6 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual transmission. It has 176K miles and I am the third owner. The original owner had it for 10 years, the second owner for 2 years and I have had it for the past 3 years. I am only selling it in order to get a vehicle with better gas mileage -- the Jeep gives me a combined 17 mpg running on regular gas.This is a great running Jeep in very good condition. The interior is in excellent shape. The body is in good shape with only two blemishes on the left front fender which had been filled and touched up with touch-up paint. I have a Carfax available for the car which shows all of the maintenance performed since the vehicle was purchased. I have taken care of the Jeep meticulously since buying it and work includes:- New front wheel hubs.- New power steering pump and steering linkages.- New alternator.- New AC compressor.- New exhaust.- New wiper motor.- Transmission fluid changed to MT-90 Red-line to ensure smooth shifting in all temperatures.- All regular preventative maintenance (oil changes etc) was performed every 4000 miles.- Frame care:o In late 2010 I had a body off frame restoration performed where all frame rust (from 13 years of use) was removed and weakened areas were boxed with new metal. o The entire frame and underbody was coated to prevent rust formation in the future and to resist road salt and moisture.o This is a major advantage, in my opinion, as the New England winters and road treatment can really take a toll on the minimally protected steel on these Jeeps. Vehicle features:- The Jeep is Moss Green in exterior color with a Spice hard-top.- I also have a black Bestop Supertop soft-top in black which is one year old.- 4WD high and 4WD low work without any problems.- Excellent heater.- Cold AC.- Alpine CDA-9886 stereo fitted with iPod/iPhone connectivity and available Bluetooth, HD, and satellite radio.- Sylvania Silverstar headlights.- Hella 500 driving lights on front.- Driver activated rear spot-lamps for use when camping, reversing in dark areas, etc.- 15x8.0 aluminum wheels with 30X9.50R15LTB Wrangler A/T tires.- Everything works.- No warning lights.- New MA inspection sticker.- I have the original build sheet for the Jeep from Chrysler and can supply this to the buyer along with the Carfax report.This is a great Wrangler which I am sorry to sell but I commute from Boston to Providence each day and need something with better gas mileage. It really has been well-looked after and with the frame restoration and undercoating I honestly do not think you could get a better TJ Wrangler Sahara for this price.The car may be seen during the workday in Providence, RI or during the evenings in Boston, MA.
