Details: My Jeep CJ5 spent almost all of its life with one south Texas family. It was purchased in 1967 to be used as a hunting vehicle, and its entire history is known by the 60 year old grandson of the original purchaser. He told me that the Jeep has a maximum of 27,000 miles on it. The speedometer has about 4,000 miles on it, but he replaced it when the old one quit - the speedometer did not ´turn over´. The four cylinder Hurricane engine has new pistons, rings, water pump and hoses. The tires on the ground are good and have lots of tread - no cracking. The spare is old and cracked but holds air. The Jeep runs and drives good. The four wheel drive works. I have the original roll bar, if you want it. The Jeep does have a title. If you´re looking for a good, sound old Jeep, I think you´ll be pleased with this one. Spend a weekend sanding and painting this old girl and you´ll have a very nice, eye catching little ride. I wouldn´t hesitate to take it cross-country at a moment´s notice. The 4-wheel drive works great. I gave it a run in 4 the other day before the rain, and checked the traction control mode during the rain, and it was smooth sailing the whole way.That said, there are 2 things wrong with it:The driver door latch tore out of the sheet metal (a common issue on the ZJ model of Grand Cherokee, when the driver door begins to sag. If I had welding equipment, I could fix it, or if I had $150 I could outright replace the door, but I don´t have that kind of disposable income right now)The muffler exploded, so it´s really loud (some hoodlum shoved a potato in my tailpipe and the backpressure blew the muffler. I have a muffler and clamps. I just haven´t had time to install it)The door will shut if the latch is positioned correctly, but opening it like that is a pain. I have it secured with a bungee cable right now, so I can open it easily. The muffler makes it loud, but doesn´t affect performance. In any case, I have a muffler for it.I love this Jeep, but I don´t need a full SUV anymore, and I´d like to get into an older Wrangler. Specifically, I´m looking for a YJ with a manual transmission. I´m not picky about what engine it has, or what top is on it. As long as it´s got all 4 wheels, drives, and the body isn´t too bashed up, I´m interested in trading. Regular title, salvage, I don´t care, so long as it has a legit title. A/C or no, doesn´t matter. This Grand Cherokee would make a great daily driver, soccer mom/dad car, utility vehicle, or even an offroad rig. It´s spacious and has plenty of power for day-to-day stuff. If you have an old Wrangler and you´re looking to upsize, it´s a good deal. If the door and muffler were fixed, I could sell it for $3500. I´m selling it for $3000, but I´m not too keen on selling my daily driver without another lined up, if you get me, so I prefer to trade.I´m also an amateur mechanic, and I can offer my services on top of a trade. Details: I posted this a while back so if you have seen this before and replied to my add I apologize! I had an issue with the bank and had to go through all kinds of stuff to get my title released from a loan I didn´t know the jeep was tied to! That being said this time all is well...title in hand. This is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee lifted 4.5 inches. In great shape and runs fantastic. 130,000 on her and plenty of life left for sure. Well taken care of and is inspected and ready to go. Has basket rack with tire carrier, ax, shovel and hi-lift mounts and three kc 6´ lights. Has rear interior cargo rack. Has a jvc radio with aux inputs and an XJ POD subwoofer enclosure with a JL Audio W0 sub. 33 x 12.50 x 15 falken wild peak AT tires with only 3000 miles on them (rated 50000 on light trucks). Have 1.5´ lift shackles from rocky road, new Timken front hubs, and a bushing set for the front control arms to go with it as well as hi lift and cb radio with antenna if wanted. I would not sell this jeep except for that fact that I have a kid on the way and need the money!! It will go just about anywhere you take it without hesitation...lots of fun!! Asking 6000 obo!!
