Details: I´m selling my jeep because I just purchased a new car.I´m the second owner of this vehicle. I drove from 80k miles to 176k miles on the odometer. I have replaced a bunch of parts on it since i bought it: brake pads, tires, power steering hose, ac blend door, radiator, evaporative rubber line, light bulbs, headlight etc. I had 2 minor accident happened around 100k miles, but nothing major, as you can see, i drove it all the way to current 176k miles without issues.I took good care of the car mechanically by tuning/repairing it by myself. There´re scratches on the seat and some dents on the lift gates, so it´s in mediocre condition cosmetically, but as expected for a 11 year old car. But the engine and transmission run really strong. I have no doubt it will easily last another 50k-100k miles because of this inline-6 engine. This car is cheap to fix if anything ever go wrong. I always bought the parts from ebay and replaced it myself. My point is, if you need a car that can get you from point A to point B and have a mainenance cost less than 100-200 a year. This is the one you should go after. This is a 2-wheel drive, so you know it´s never abused offroad.all the electronics, heater/ac, work well.The price is firm. I will keep it if can´t sell at $3500. I can always use it to tow stuff/moving and drive it to 300k miles (in year 2020?).The color is white and looks exactly like this one in pic. The mileage is at 176k. Details: 1973 Jeep CJ 5 This Jeep has proven itself on the trails and has consistently handled all Class 3 and some Class 4 trails at Hidden Falls Off-road Park in Marble Falls. It was resurrected and almost completely rebuilt as the previous owner was obviously an idiot. Basics• ´84 Inline six 258 engine with a new Weber carburetor and DUI ignition. • 3 Speed T-15 transmission • Dana 300 transfer case. • Dana 44 Rear axle with the coveted flanged axle shafts. New outer bearings and seals• Dana 30 front axle with a Spicer Powr-Lok limited slip locker. • Power steeringCustom & New Stuff• Complete re-wiring with new, high-quality automotive wiring and marine fuse block. All grounds are routed back to the block and labeled so troubleshooting any electrical problems is super easy. • Recent paint job but nothing fancy. It´s nice but was built for the trails and has some scratches and rub marks. Looks great until you get right up on it though.• Interior is rino-lined and can be sprayed out after a good day on the trails.• Dash panel was cleaned and many of the useless holes were filled. Custom switch panel. • Corbeau Baja SS off-road suspension seats with Corbeau 4-point harness.• Custom built shelf behind seats for added storage. • Front cage was added to the stock roll bar for added protection.• LED taillights flush with the rear fenders.• Rock sliders for under body protection• 33´ Pro-Comp X-Terrein with about 5K miles on them and only minor rock rash. Great tires!• Custom front bumper with shackle rings built through. VERY sturdy.• No winch but pre-wired for easy install. Winch controls are built into that switch panel. • Custom center pull parking brake. • Too many other new parts to list. Needs• The front and rear pinion bearings leak after driving for a while and may need to be replaced soon.• The rear brake shoes should be replaced. They work but it´s about time. It would help the parking brake hold better. • The speedometer needs to be replaced. I reinstalled the original but nothing on it works. The amperage and oil pressure gauges are new and work fine though.• The steering linkage has a lot of play in it for my standards. It´s very drivable on the street but I don´t recommend it as a daily driver. I drive it to/from Hidden Falls and around town on occasion. • Not much else unless you want to build it up to a more beastly crawler. Overall, this is a perfect for someone looking to get into some off-road wheeling / crawling or just a toy to tinker with. You´ll look good driving around town and earn the waves from other Jeepers. I do have some miscellaneous parts, Hayes manual, and a new cloth cover so it doesn´t sit out in the weather. 95% of the time I´ve owned it was housed in my garage though. These four pictures don´t do it justice. I can forward many more and have photo documented the whole build. You really should come see it if you´re interested.
